Thousands of Mosman locals are currently taking urgent steps to secure their financial and personal identities after a third-party software provider exposed sensitive community data to cyber criminals.

Has your personal data fallen into the wrong hands? The local government is currently contacting affected individuals to explain exactly what information was accessed during a security failure that originally took place in May 2026. Panic is unnecessary. This is not a fresh attack.

Instead, authorities are simply following up on their previous public warnings to ensure the neighbourhood understands the exact scope of the software provider’s mistake.

Help is right around the corner. Recognising the intense stress of a privacy loss, council members arranged a special in-person support session on Friday, July 10. Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., state experts from ID Support NSW will sit down with residents at the Allan Border Oval Pavilion.

They provide completely free, personalised guidance to help restore compromised documents and block potential identity theft. Residents simply need to register beforehand by calling 9978 4128, emailing the community care team, or visiting the Seniors Centre.

So, what should you do right now? Stay vigilant. Scammers thrive on confusion, meaning everyone must ignore unexpected messages requesting financial details or containing strange links. Check your credit card statements for anything unusual. Enable multi-factor authentication everywhere possible and change your passwords immediately. Every small defence helps lock down your digital life while the investigation continues.
